Terry’s Story

Terry Lawn of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, is a beloved father to Kelsey, Colin, Mallory, and Regan, and a longtime partner to Rachel Giercyk.

Terry was born and raised in Erdenheim, PA. He was passionate about family, music, and learning something new everyday. Terry shared his passion for life with anyone he met. Terry’s father instilled an excellent work ethic in him, which he then passed down to his own children. His pride in his family was made clear when reminding his children to “let ‘em know you’re a Lawn”.

Above all the valuable lessons he instilled, Terry taught his children to spread kindness. As he shared with his kids, “it costs absolutely nothing to be kind, so throw a little extra in there”. Community was extremely important to Terry. Whether it was a family from his children’s local recreational sports, a neighborhood restaurant, or a friend from the area; Terry wanted to see everyone land on their feet. When any family that he knew was going through a rough time, Terry was sure to offer a helping hand. Not a single family dinner passed without Terry offering up prayers for “special intentions”, which were often local families going through tough times.

Terry’s children learned from the best when it comes to caring for others. After Terry’s sudden passing in 2025, his children were left with a desire to carry out his kindness throughout the community. Fulfilling their father’s legacy, the Lawn siblings started Lawn Family Local Acts to help local families get to where they’re going. As Terry taught them, they are here to help their neighbors “keep on keepin’ on”.
